It must be something in the water or the food but the cats have been wild lately. Running around the house in a frenzied manner, tossing their toys down the stairs and chasing after them, then pouncing on us while we are fast asleep. Last night Captain ran up and down the stairs twenty or thirty times with a toy mouse in his mouth.

The cats sounded like a heavy metal band last night. Sabby must have been trying to provoke Captain into a fight. He likes to do that.

In the Charlotte Wing of the house, Asta and Amos were also bouncing off the walls late into the night. Literally. Cats can bounce and spring and pounce and sing and then sit down, lick themselves and curl up, preferably in beds where they become lazy, quiet and serene. But the cats usually rest after we have left the house for a days’ work.

The cats’ days’ work occurs at night in our house.
