Toni was born in my parents’ backyard to a stray cat. We were visiting that month because my Dad was undergoing triple bypass heart surgery. My children picked out Toni from the litter and named her Tony because they thought she was a he. Soon we discovered we were going to have to change the spelling of her name to “Toni.”

My parents decided to keep Toni as she was a very special little kitten. Or, rather she adopted them. She is now eighteen and a half years old and is still playing her role as lap kitty. She sits on my Dad’s lap every day but is very delicate now.

Besides the heart surgery, Toni’s been the best medicine for my Dad’s heart.

Brava Toni!
