I was touched when I saw this kitty in the window next to the Nativity scene last Saturday night. The cat had just added himself to the pretty setting, or so I thought.
I learned something new today through my cousin, Nancy. She told me about the Mark of Mary.
The story goes like this……
On Christmas, Baby Jesus was cold and a tabby cat got in the manger to keep him warm,
so Mary blessed all tabbies with her initial -M- on their forehead!
So you must remember to always include a tabby cat with your nativity sets!
My Tabbies also have the Mark of Mary…..

Two other cats with the Mark of Mary (by the way, vote for Sisu)
The Anchoress has more on Mary. (vote for The Anchoress here)
Welcome sisu readers! Merry Christmas!

I do so adore your cats. Just thought I'd mention it. They (along with Tiny and Baby) are nearly as beloved as my own two hooligans Sam and Tim. These beautiful and loving creatures make every day a happy one at my house.

Thanks Gayle. I want to see your hooligans too.

My Black cats have them also but you can only see them if they are laying in the sun. Dad loved telling this story. so do I. It's amazing how many people have never heard it. Little girls that have a huge love for kittys really think it's a great story.
love ya, Nancy

I'm getting a new computer this weekend and then I'm going to figure out the digital camera and start taking pics. This morning was a Kodak moment for sure! I had on the local morning news program and they were playing a carol rung by bells. Sam and Tim just plunked themselves right in front of the set with their ears all alert and watched avidly until the music was done! A little Pavlovian and all but still it was adorable. I was telling them both how sweet and beautiful they are and Sam ran over and jumped on my lap (all 25# of him - ooof) and had to have his head scratched and his shoulders rubbed! So Tim stalked off to the bedroom to sulk - and later joined me in the shower!
Cats!
