Before the last ballots had been counted and John McCain had conceded to President Elect, Barack Obama, the attacks had already begun on Sarah Palin, but not by the Democrats, by her own campaign aides. How far the Republicans have strayed from the conservative days of Reagan. No wonder the milk toast moderates of the Republican Party want to drop the policies of Reagan down the memory hole, they don’t want his ethics either.

Sarah Palin’s performance in the past sixty eight days of the Presidential campaign roused the Republican base, stirred up hope, something few Republicans had after the frenzied months of Obama mania. Palin brought excitement to John McCain’s campaign and carried herself with dignity, energy and tremendous grace.

Not so with those whose job it was to support her in her endeavors to help John McCain win the election. Sarah Palin carried John McCain on her shoulders throughout the U.S. during the frenetic last weeks of the campaign. Her debate with Joe Biden will always stand out as a classic.

I was supporting John McCain chiefly because I opposed Barack Obama but after the selection of Sarah Palin as Veep I went all in for McCain, supporting him with my money and my time.

That John McCain has not yet renounced the aides who are leaking this absolute crap about Sarah Palin in order to blame the defeat on her and quash her political viability for the future is pathetic and completely disappointing.

I am totally disgusted.

Surprised?

Sadly, no.

When Democrats are defeated they blame Republicans.

When Republicans are defeated they blame Republicans.

Now a new one.

When Republican males are defeated, the female running mate is blamed.

I remember in the days just after President Reagan’s term ended books started emerging from former White House officials who had worked closely with President Reagan and the long knives were out after Nancy Reagan. The media had always been critical of Nancy Reagan during Ronald Reagan’s Presidency and I’m sure a little criticism of Nancy was a selling point to a publisher. I’m figuring this may be an angle the unprincipled gossips are after - they may want to sell a tell-all book that will rule out a future for Sarah Palin.

Red State has a list of people from the McCain campaign who have been smearing Gov. Palin.

These people need to be exposed as the losers, whiners, and incompetents they most certainly are.

In Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention she said, “There is only one man in this election who has ever really fought for you.”

She continued to say this about John McCain in every rally throughout the campaign.

It’s a shame that now the election is all over John McCain will not fight for Sarah Palin.
